RE: Autopsy: Thanks and schedule

"It went well...TERRIFIC as a matter of fact!~!~!~
The parent help was so wonderful, custodial staff (Dave, Barb, Linda) for cleanup was fast/polished/smooth, Ardel was such a wonderful help :)/Lisa couldn't be here but thank you for letting us use the perfect place (to be seen nationally!), students were great and Jon Little from EdTech/FSUSD was absolutely stupendous--prep, set-up, link-up, back-up, training, etc.
Most of the other schools only had 5-10 students involved...we had 100 students and about 9-10 adults. There was even 1 middle school student that came with his parent...Open House has many side perks!~!~!~"

"Last night after school, a few science teachers gathered to watch an incredible use of technology...we partook in a video conference which introduced us to a company that provides live interaction for science students.

Thank you Jon for making sure we had the opportunity as a district, doing the prep work, coordinating the event, and for set up!  Wonderful experience :)

Thank you Mike for jumping at the opportunity and making leap of faith that we would want to host the event so that our teachers would have first choice at attending. Great move, thank you for thinking of us and hosting the event in your room, etc.

Thank you Christina--she won one of the drawings to have a free video link, live action, viewing of an autopsy.  But, it gets better!   She has graciously given this "experience" to my Honors: Anatomy and Physiology students as well as Med Sci II.

So, you ponder, what's so KOOL about this!  It's live...the Dr. who does the autopsy talks to the students, answers their questions and there is a set of materials for me to use pre and post with the students as prep/follow-up.  How awesome is this for "our" kids!"

"This is the best thing I have ever seen!  It is about $80 for 30 packets and the presentation, which is ENORMOUSLY cheaper than a field trip.  The next thing we need to do as a campus is get ourselves a Polycom Teleconferencing Unit.  I'll look into this."
