The Social Studies site
is one of the six major areas or "houses" of School
Without Walls. Each area has a specific curriculum focus.
The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District recognizes
that the Internet has changed the nature of communication and collaboration.
School Without Walls promotes learning and resource sharing through the
medium of the Web. The various sections provide tools for teachers, students
and parents. All resources are free to anyone involved in teaching or
learning.
New Highlight:
Calisphere (K-12, History, English, & Art)
has over 150,000 digitized items (e.g., newspaper pages, photographs, unique cultural artifacts) that reveal the history and culture of CA. The images are linked into themes and aligned to the CA content standards. Lessons & worksheets are also provided. Developed by the University of California Libraries.
